As part of developing Westminster City Council's Open Space
Strategy, Groundwork conducted extensive community consultation to
ascertain local residents and open space users views on Westminster
open spaces.
Consultation involved:
The consultation aimed to ascertain the current barriers and issues limiting use of open spaces, potential future improvements and priorities, and how people can be more involved in the management of parks.
The findings of the consultation have been fed into Westminister City Council Open Space Strategy. Partners and funders included Westminster City Council, Land Use Consultants.

Following the findings of the Westminister Open Space Audit, Groundwork, (in partnership with the South Westminster Neighbourhood Renewal Team, City West Homes, Sanctuary Housing, Threshold Housing and Peabody Trust) were commissioned to produce a further audit concentrating on open spaces in social housing estates in South Westminster.
The audit looked at all green spaces, courtyards, play areas and assessed their quality and usage. Tenants and Residents Associations were involved and able to give their views on their open spaces including any issues or priorities for improvement they may have. The audit explored potential improvements that could be made to some of the areas and fundraising is currently underway to implement these recommendations.
