Groundwork was commissioned by Haringey Council in October
2006 to carry out a consultation process and feasibility study to
create a shared vision for the improvement of Noel Park including
the production of a costed concept masterplan.
Groundwork in partnership with the newly reformed Friends of Noel Park, BTCV, The Wood Green Neighbourhood Office and Haringey Council successfully consulted with local residents, park users, community groups and other stakeholders to identify improvement priorities for the park.
Consultation highlighted a number of issues which currently act
as barriers to use. These revolve around safety and security,
especially in the eastern section of the park and also in relation
to overgrown shrubbery throughout the park. Dog fouling and
behaviour of a small number of irresponsible dog owners is also a
significant barrier to use.
A final costed concept masterplan was produced by Groundwork
along with a cost estimate for implementing the whole package of
works. This work is now being taken forward by our Development Team
who are seeking funds from various sources.
