Groundwork, in partnership with arts organisation Rise Phoenix have developed a number of heritage
walks as part of a wider project to promote usage of local
parks in Camden. The trail takes walkers through St James Gardens,
Harrington Square, Oakley Square, Goldington Crescent Gardens, St
Pancras Gardens and ends at Camley Street Natural Park. The walk
takes in a statue of a railway pioneer, cemeteries, burial grounds,
churches and historic gardens.
Children from three local Primary Schools, Richard Cobden, St Michaels, St Mary & St Pancras, and from Ampthill Square and Somers Town Youth Club carved stone waymarkers during workshops lead by Rise Phoenix artists Rachel Jackson and Chris Gorman. The project has been funded by Camden Neighbourhood Renewal Funding.
